Monteverde Catering is more than a catering service; it’s a family tradition that’s been feeding and supporting our community for 38 years. Monteverde began as a small operation with a big heart, dedicated to making every event feel like a family gathering. Today, the legacy continues as we grow and find our cornerstone in Emsworth, infusing fresh energy and new ideas into the business while honoring the roots that built it.

As we step forward, our mission is clear: to blend the tradition we’re known for with a modern touch that reflects the diversity and vision of the clients we serve. Whether you’re celebrating a wedding, hosting a luncheon, or throwing a backyard get-together, we are here to ensure every meal, every gathering, and every detail feels as thoughtful and welcoming as a family meal.   • Absolutely! We offer dietary and allergy friendly items.

  • Orders can be placed with Kelly by calling 412-761-7707 or by completing our contact form.

  • We need at least a 24-hour notice for a catering event.

  • We either have the rental items on hand or we work directly with rental companies to acquire any and all items that you need.

  • A credit card is required to be held on file to secure your date.  For certain events we will not require a deposit but for larger events we ask for a non-refundable deposit of 20%.

  • No party is too big or small!  We will work with you to determine what level of service you will require for your Event.

  • The estimate we provide includes the food items you requested. All dinnerware is available for an additional charge.  If your event requires a delivery, you will also see the fee on the estimate.

  • There is a $35 chaffer, sterno and serving utensil rental fee for pickup and delivery Events. A sales tax of 7% is applied to all events as well as a labor charge for full-service catered events. A delivery charge, based on mileage, is applied to drop off events only. 

  • Balance can be made at time of delivery with cash or check.  For larger Events final payment is required 1 week prior and can be paid by mailing a check or use our Quickbooks payment link.  We accept credit card payments (added 3% processing fee), ACH Bank Transfers, Checks and Cash.  

  • Of course, we love working with familiar venues but are always up for a challenge at a new location.  Here is a list of local venues that we are preferred caterers at.

  • Gratuity is not included on any order and is left to the client's discretion. Gratuity is never expected, but always greatly appreciated!

    Kelly and staff do a heck of a nice job and work extremely hard to make sure everything is perfect for their guests. They did the catering for our wedding and the food was perfect. We decided to do buffet style to allow our guests to pick whatever they wanted as well as make sure no one left feeling hungry if seconds were wanted. The food was served very hot and on time. All food was perfectly seasoned and tasted very tender and well. Our guests complimented us on the food saying it was nice to have a variety. Kelly and staff also care about food allergies and dietary needs and was great to work with for that as we had a few folks with gluten and vegetarian requests. My wife and I cannot recommend them enough. We are so pleased and will used them again in the future if we ever have another big event, family party, super bowl, whatever-they are wonderful servers, cooks, and organizers when it comes to catering big events and very easy to work with. I must also say their response time was very timely and they returned phone calls and messages extremely quickly.

    The catering was FANTASTIC! Kelly was super helpful from the tasting, to the linens and everything in between. The service was unmatched and our guests were massively impressed with how delicious everything was. They served my husband and I directl, pack up all the left overs for us, and even hand served my disabled mother in law! The conciteration was a huge wow factor for us! Absolutely amazing!

I had to make a last-minute switch with my napkins and it was handled so quickly and efficiently. I would have another wedding JUST to have this food again! Affordable, amazing and delicious.     Monteverdes catered my wedding on 11/25/2023. The food was absolutely PHENOMENAL. I am still getting texts raving about the food, particularly the custom Ravioli Bar (so good). Kelly was so great in helping us nail down our menu, flexible with changes and so accommodating for our guests with dietary restrictions. She also made sure Ryan and I ate on our day, serving us specifically (just the absolute best). Additionally, the waitstaff at the wedding was incredible. I kept hearing all night about how wonderful the waitstaff was and they TRULY WERE WONDERFUL! They styled a beautiful cookie table, making sure my husband and I had a big box of cookies to take home knowing we'd have a busy night, they packed a meal for each of us to have at home, they brought in some toys for my nephews to play with (what a hit and were so sweet with the little ones period), and just generally, so helpful and made sure our night was as seamless and as perfect as possible. I could go on and on, but thank you, and I'm going to have to make up events just to use Monteverdes again!

    My husband and I hired Monteverde’s as the caterer for our wedding day, and they were absolutely incredible. Kelly was so easy to work with - from our first tasting to other planning meetings to our actual wedding day. Kelly was flexible, accommodating various changes to the menu and guest list as we prepared for our day. She was communicative, and promptly sent updated estimates throughout the planning process. We and our guests loved the food. Kelly’s staff were incredibly professional, and efficiently moved all our guests through the buffet line. Kelly’s staff beautifully plated our cookie table, and packed up the leftovers for us to take home. We would wholeheartedly recommend Monteverde Catering to any couple looking for a wedding caterer in the Western Pennsylvania area.

The staff at Monteverdes was wonderful to work with and they have a number of menu options to meet any budget needs. The food was delicious and enjoyed by all.     We're so glad we chose Monteverde. Their prices were surprisingly good, and communication & quality were outstanding. The tasting at their office was fun and we got multiple FULL meals to make sure we got a good taste for our tests! By the time we got to the wedding, we forgot what we ordered, but it was absolutely delicious. Guests raved about the food. We also used them for bartending, and while I didn't interact much with the bartenders, there was never a line built up at the bar and I heard no complaints. They cleaned everything up very nicely at the bar, and the catering cleaned up the venue and packaged our food really well. Overall, I cannot recommend them enough, and would consider hiring them for other large events too if I ever have the need.
